Navigation Shortcuts

  • Go to Inbox:
    • Press g + i
  • Compose Email:
    • Press c
  • Search Emails:
    • Press / to focus on the search bar
  • Next/Previous Email:
    • Press j to go to the next email
    • Press k to go to the previous email
  • Select Email:
    • Press x to select an email

Composing and Sending Emails

  • Compose New Email:
    • Press c
  • Send Email:
    • Press Ctrl + Enter
  • Attach a File:
    • Press Ctrl + Shift + a
  • Insert Link:
    • Press Ctrl + k
  • Insert Emoji:
    • Press Ctrl + .

Email Organization

  • Archive Email:
    • Press e
  • Move to Trash:
    • Press #
  • Label Emails:
    • Press l to open label menu
  • Mark as Read/Unread:
    • Press Shift + r

Gmail Settings

  • Open Settings:
    • Click on the gear icon at the top right and select “See all settings”
  • Enable/Disable Keyboard Shortcuts:

  • Enable Labs:
    • In Settings, go to the “Labs” tab
  • Preview Pane:
    • Enables a split-pane view for easier email management
  • Undo Send:
    • Allows you to recall an email shortly after sending
